MCFC Honours List

One of my colleagues who supports the Evil Red Empire suggested I Google “MCFC Honours List”. Ha! Google Bomb I thought. Something along the lines of the Miserable Failure Google Bomb that hit George Bush in 2004. But no. It’s Google suggesting an alternative result “MCFC Honours List” being “MUFC Honours List”. Funny I suppose.

Funnier if you can jump on top to capture the (irrlevant) traffic.

No, seriously, this is very funny. Ask any MCFC fan where the trophies are and they won’t tell you. They know where they are… but they’re a little coy. It is funny though. And quite a brilliant marketing ploy for Push On. Join a couple of United Facebook groups and it will garner a shedload of hits. Well done that man. And up the Forest, eh, Simon.

Apparently Google is also a qualified referee. Or at least demonstrates similar levels of impartiality.

Or am I just a bitter blue?

Looking at our Analytics, doing thios daft blog post generated a spike which doubled our traffic for a couple of days. Clearly this traffic was pretty much irrelevant to what we do but as a small demonstration of identifying a trending term and capturing traffic, it works well. I was presenting to some small business olast night on the principles of search marketing and then came in as a useful deomnstration.

And may I say many thanks to the Man U fans for their wit and humour on this thread. ;-)
